Close racing in the Sprints that are held just off Auckland's Habour Bridge

Young 88 Thursday Night Sprints last night! Phil and Garth went racing with Rick Hackett on his Y88, Skitzo. Rick has kindly offered Waka Racing the use of his yacht for the upcoming Y88 Nationals (the biggest One-Design Keel Boat Class in NZ), 16-17 April.

We had a fun night out racing with Rick and his regular crew.  Conditions were great and competition fierce with 15 88’s on the start line. It was Phil and Garth’s first fleet race in over a year with a bit of rust showing.

However we came out firing with two 2^nd places off the bat and then bombed the last with a 9^th, after getting caught up in the fleet on the first beat. This put us 2^nd equal for the night.

Overall it was a great night out racing again in NZ.  Capped off with a couple of cheeky cold ones after. Thanks Rick.
