Podium finish at 1st event

Semi-final action against Ian Williams. vsail.com

The semi final didn’t go completely to plan. 2-0 down in the morning it was do or die. We died. After a great start and the lead at the top mark, Williams did a great job to hold us out at the bottom mark. A tough fort battle upwind didn’t come to much, resulting in our third loss and being knocked out of the semi final.

This put us in the play offs for 3rd/4th. Racing against Simone Ferrarese (ITA), we hit our straps. Comfortably winning 2-0, putting us in 3rd place and Waka Racings first podium finish for the year.

A great start to the European season. We are now off to Marseille, France for our first event of the World Match Racing Tour. We are very happy with how we are sailing and confident going into next week.
