Misty, Windy, and Cold First Day in Korea

by Garth Ellingham | 6/5/10

KM36's in action

Misty, windy and cold conditions greeted Waka Racing today for the first day of the Korea Match Cup Qualifier. There are only six boats here so the 12 team fleet was split in two groups with our group completing 5 races first, before the second group jumped in.

The team had a great day coming to terms with the boats well, to take 5 wins from 5 races for the day. Wins included beating other Kiwi teams; Laurie Jury, William Tiller, and also a particularly close race against Korean Park Gun Woo.

The “Dick Of The Day” prize today went to the entire team who have all underestimated how cold it was going to be here. Tomorrow suitcases may be emptied if cold temperatures keep up!
